Replacing the battery in your Tehama Indoor Transceiver (MDT) is a straightforward process that you can complete in just a few steps. By following these steps, you can easily replace the battery, ensuring it continues to function correctly.

Tools and Materials Needed

  1. A new AA battery (available at local grocery stores, drugstores, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Locate the side of the MDT: Start by finding the side of the MDT where there is a raised area.
  2. Depress the sides: Depress the sides of the MDT to open and expose the internal portion of the board
  3. Remove the Old Battery: Once the enclosure is open, locate the old battery inside the transceiver. Grasp the battery and carefully remove it from its compartment. Note that the battery type is a AA.
  4. Prepare the New Battery: Ensure you have the correct replacement battery, a AA battery. Make sure to note the positive (+) and negative (-) sides of the battery.
  5. Insert the New Battery: Position the new battery so that the positive (+) side is on the correct side. Firmly press down to insert the battery into the compartment.
  6. Replace the enclosure: Replace the enclosure to close it. The MDT now will begin searching for the DCAP. Please wait for a solid light to appear on the MDT
    1. Green = Good Signal
    2. Yellow = Mid Range Signal
    3. Red = Poor Signal

Tips

  1. If the MDT does not function after the battery replacement, double-check that the battery is inserted correctly with the positive (+) side facing in the correct direction.
