Programming New Transmitters

  • Remove the front faceplate from the unit using the 4 screws located in all 4 corners.

    • You should see the three buttons next to the display labeled: Back, Next and Change. You will be using these to do all your navigating.

  •  Press the following buttons to navigate to the Wireless input 01 menu

    • Change

    • Next

    • Next

  • You have 32 wireless connections available, so you will need to complete the following steps for each transmitter you want to program. Just keep pressing Next to cycle through all available ports. When on the one you wish to program, press Change.

  • You will want to enable the display. This allows you to see the status of each unit on the front of your NoWire display. To do this, Press Change

    • Press Next to highlight Yes

    • Press Back to exit. This option is now saved.

    • Press Next to move on to the Description menu.

  • Next you will want to change the description. This option is what your meter/transmitter will be displayed as when transmitting data. This will normally be called something like “Unit 101” for example. To Begin press Change. 

    • You will then press Change to cycle through the individual input options (a-z, 1-0, special characters).

    • Press Next to move to the next digit in the sequence. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have the label you want.

    • Press Back when you are done to save changes.

    • Press Next to move on to the Units menu.

  • Next you will want to change the units. This option is for units of measurement (i.e Gallons for water, kWh for electric) not to be confused with the description field. To Begin press Change.

    • You will then press Change to cycle through the individual input options (a-z, 1-0, special characters).

    • Press Next to move to the next digit in the sequence. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have the label you want.

    • Press Back when you are done to save changes.

    • Press Next, then Next again to move on to the Pulse value menu.

  • Next you will want to change the Pulse value. This varies depending on the meter that you are using. For the MJ20 this has a pulse value of 10 so you will need to change this. To Begin press Change.

    • You will then press Change to cycle through the individual input options (1-0, Decimal point)

    • Press Next to move to the next digit in the sequence. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the line reads “10.000”.

    • Press Back when you are done to save changes.

    • Press Next, then Next again to move on to the Leak Alert menu.

  • You will want to enable the Leak Alert function. This will show if there is an abnormally large consumption caused by a possible leak on the front display of the NoWire unit. To do this, Press Change

    • Press Next to highlight Yes.

    • Press Back to exit. This option is now saved.

    • Press Next, to move on to the Nadv Alert menu.

  • You will want to enable the Nadv Alert (Non-advancing) function. This will show if the transmitter doesn’t receive a pulse from the meter. This will help you know if your meter is going bad or if the transmitter has lost connection to the meter. To do this, Press Change.

    • Press Next to highlight Yes.

    • Press Back to exit. This option is now saved.

    • Press Next, to move on to the Assign Xmitr menu.

  • To Assign the transmitter, press Change. You will then need to open the transmitter you wish to program and press the small blue button located inside.

    • After pressing the blue button, the front of the display changes from “Waiting for…” to “Last Seen…”

    • When this happens, Press Next. You should be taken to a menu that displays your transmitter ID Number.

    • Verify this number matches the one on the side of the transmitter you just programmed.

    • If both of these match, then you have successfully completed this wireless input. Press Back to take you out of this menu and press Next to go to the Wireless input 02 menu. Repeat all steps for each transmitter you wish to program.
