Troubleshooting No Consumption/Non-Advancing Meter

1. Non-Advancing Meter

We would like you to turn on water within the following unit and look directly at the center dial on the meter and determine if its spinning.

  • If the center dial of the water meter spins freely then we can assume that the issues could be related to the transmitter or connections.
  • If the center dial of the water meter does not spin freely, we can assume the meter is clogged with debris or particles. In this case, we recommend removing the meter and flushing it with a water hose to clear any blockages. If the center dial still doesn't spin freely it indicates that the meter need to be replaced.

2. Verify the Connection

I. Inspect the Wiring:

Begin by checking the wires running from the meter to the transceiver. Carefully inspect for any visible damage ensure there are no cuts, frays, or signs of the wires being severed. If no damages are observed, proceed to step 2.

II. Open the Transceiver Enclosure:

Locate the transceiver and gently apply pressure to release and remove the cover. Once the enclosure is open and the internal board is exposed, proceed with the next steps.

III. Check the Blue Terminal Block:

Inspect the wiring connected to the blue terminal block. Ensure none of the wires are loose or disconnected.

*Make sure that the wire is feed through the notch on the bottom of the transmitter

If any wire has come loose, carefully reinsert the exposed copper portion into the terminal block as far as it will go, then securely retighten the connection.

Additionally, verify that the wires are inserted into the correct positions specifically, the IN and GND slots on the terminal block. You don't have to follow the color of the wire strictly as this meter is not polarity sensitive.

If this test is performed and the transceiver still doesn’t produce a pulse, the transceiver will need to be replaced.
