Alerts Overview

NextCentury Health and Security Alerts protect your equipment and notify you when unusual activity occurs. The interface allows you to manage and enable Alerts for individual properties or for all properties across a portfolio at once.

Purpose: Protect equipment, detect irregular activity, and notify designated users.

Available Alerts

Alerts are categorized into Equipment Health Alerts and Smart Security Alerts.

Equipment Health Alerts

These alerts provide status updates regarding the physical condition and connection of your equipment.

  •  Tamper: Created when a device is physically tampered with (usually opened). If a Tamper alert appears simultaneously with abnormal consumption, it is a strong indicator of attempted equipment manipulation.

  •  Connection: Created when a device goes offline. NextCentury uses intelligent alerting to help identify network problems quickly.

  •  Power Loss: Created when wall-powered equipment (such as Gateways and Repeaters) is unplugged from its power source.

  •  Battery: Created when a device’s battery is nearing the end of its life, indicating it needs replacement.

Smart Security Alerts

These alerts monitor utility usage and environmental conditions to detect irregular activities.

  •  Temperature: Created when a meter's temperature reaches dangerous levels (e.g., near freezing) or if the temperature is outside the safe operating range for the equipment.

  •  Consumption: Uses artificial intelligence to detect unusual patterns or spikes in utility consumption, such as a running toilet or sudden trend changes.
