Troubleshooting No Consumption

OVERVIEW:

For non-advancing meters, the first step would be to do a bucket test. This will test the meter itself for accuracy as well as the pulse output capabilities: Before getting started, verify the status of the transmitter itself, specifically the wiring between the 2 devices. Make sure there is no damage to the wire and that connection to the transmitter hasn’t been interrupted. 

For Bucket Test:

**See meter inaccuracy > Bucket Test (Pulse Ring)*

If the bucket test passes and the meter is producing a pulse, the issue could be the transmitter itself. If this is the suspected cause, you will want to check the transmitter for pulses. 

• To do this you will need to disconnect the blue/green block in the transmitter itself to expose the pins. 

• Using something conductive like a paperclip, short out all the pins by bridging them using the conductive material. This will cause a false pulse.

• Reset the transmitter connection to the Inovonics gateway by pressing the reset button (blue button).

• Verify if Transmitter recorded a pulse on the Inovonics tapwatch.com website.

If this test is performed and the transmitter still doesn’t produce a pulse, the transmitter will need to be replaced.
